Tony Hawk Ride

June 4, 2009

The controller you see above is the official skateboard controller for Tony Hawk’s Ride that is slated to release in October. It seems to be promising, but do you really have to be able to make the board spin to perform a kickflip?

Scratch: The Ultimate DJ

June 4, 2009

I guess this will be the competitor for DJ Hero. From what it looks like, Scratch: The Ultimate DJ has the better looking hardware. I think its funny how both companies are coming out with a DJ game about the same time. Competitive marketing and producting at its finest!

Wii Comes out in Black

June 4, 2009

When I first glanced at this picture I said, “look at that black beauty.” Sure it is kind of a nerdy thing for me to say, but I can not deny that the Wii in black is impressively better looking than the white! The black Wii will be available for 25,000 Yen on August 1st in Japan, however no dates have been announced for a US release. All I know is that I am glad that I got rid of my white Wii and I hope to get this one, just so that it would match with my black furniture that I’ll be getting when I move!

Close Up Of DJ Hero

June 4, 2009

Finally a close up shot of the upcoming Activision DJ Hero videogame! I’m really contemplating if I should invest in purchasing the game when available, but the DJ in me tells me this has my name written all over it! I can finally play something against my Guitar Hero pro friends and school them in what I can do.

DJ Hero The Next Big Thing?

June 2, 2009

With DJ Hero set to release very soon, I can’t help but notice all the buzz about this upcoming release. Could this really be the next big hit? In my opinion, of course!

When Guitar Hero came out a while ago, it was a for sure smash in the gaming world. It was almost life like. I mean, if you didn’t have any guitar skills, it didn’t matter because of the ease of the game. I’ve played Guitar Hero here and there, but never really got into it because I never really liked rock or punk music that much. I’ve always been more of a Blues, R&B, and Hip Hop kind of guy.

I’m sure there are many others that felt the way I did. We were simply waiting for a game that would play the music we liked, the music that we enjoyed. So I believe DJ Hero does just that for Hip Hop fans, unless DJ Hero plays nothing but music you get a raves From the reviews that the game has ties to Jay-Z and Eminem, I think nothing less than some good Hip Hop beat machine, turntabling fun. This will be a hit for Hip Hop heads, DJs, Turntablists, and even people who just love those damn video games!

I’ll even probably end up getting one a few months after it releases.

DJ Hero, It’s About Damn Time

May 29, 2009

For those familiar with the Beat Mania arcade game at your local arcades, Activision finally put out a DJ game that allows us to play on our home console. DJ Hero will come with a bundle greatest hits from Jay Z and Eminem, limited edition controller, and a DJ stand. I love how the picture above also shows Japan powerhouse streetwear brand “A bathing ape.” Not too sure of pricing, but it cant be far from the Rock Band bundle pricing.

Style Yourself While Playing Rock Band

May 29, 2009

Just when you were hoping for a new guitar design for Rock Band or Guitar Hero, Mad Catz presents you with the Fender Rock Band bass that gets your blood rushing. According the Mad Catz CEO Darren Richardson, the Fender will ship later this month. I’ve never been a huge fan of Rock Band or the Guitar Hero genres, but I get down now and then with a bunch of friends over a few drinks. I would definitely be stylin with this while I rock out to some Blink 182. I’m curious to see the price of this guitar.

Wal-Mart Lets Gamers Trade In Used Games

May 18, 2009

Wal-Mart is currently testing out a new system where games can trade in their used games to an automated kiosk and get trade-in value towards their credit card. Currently only 77 stores allow this game buy back program. I have no idea how useful this may be, nor do I support anything via Wal-Mart. I do think it is funny that they are starting all these programs now.

Wal-Mart Screws Over Technology Consumers Again!

April 28, 2009

In attempt to be a wonderful mother, Jodi Wykle purchased a brand new Nintendo DSi from Wal-Mart for her teenage son.

The boy proceeded to open the box. Instead of being happy, he became confused and upset because he pulled ou a bunch of rocks with a chinese newspaper.

Wykle contacted the local Wal-Mart that she purchased the rock filled handheld box, and they quickly turned their backs and said Wykle needed to contact Nintendo. Basically Wal-Mart stated that it wasn’t their problem. The same went with Nintendo.

Disgruntled with the $138 box of rocks she purchased, Wykle was soon given a full refund plus a $20 gift card because Wal-Mart realized it was their fault. That same box of rocks was returned by another disgruntled customer and it somehow ended in Wykle’s posession. I thought Wal-Mart employees were smart enough to look for these kind of problems and not restock the shelves with fake items….I guess I was wrong.

Again, why is it that Wal-Mart screws up on DVD’s, Games, Handhelds, CDs, etc?
