Wal-Mart Lets Gamers Trade In Used Games

May 18, 2009

Wal-Mart is currently testing out a new system where games can trade in their used games to an automated kiosk and get trade-in value towards their credit card. Currently only 77 stores allow this game buy back program. I have no idea how useful this may be, nor do I support anything via Wal-Mart. I do think it is funny that they are starting all these programs now.

Wal-Mart Screws Over Technology Consumers Again!

April 28, 2009

In attempt to be a wonderful mother, Jodi Wykle purchased a brand new Nintendo DSi from Wal-Mart for her teenage son.

The boy proceeded to open the box. Instead of being happy, he became confused and upset because he pulled ou a bunch of rocks with a chinese newspaper.

Wykle contacted the local Wal-Mart that she purchased the rock filled handheld box, and they quickly turned their backs and said Wykle needed to contact Nintendo. Basically Wal-Mart stated that it wasn’t their problem. The same went with Nintendo.

Disgruntled with the $138 box of rocks she purchased, Wykle was soon given a full refund plus a $20 gift card because Wal-Mart realized it was their fault. That same box of rocks was returned by another disgruntled customer and it somehow ended in Wykle’s posession. I thought Wal-Mart employees were smart enough to look for these kind of problems and not restock the shelves with fake items….I guess I was wrong.

Again, why is it that Wal-Mart screws up on DVD’s, Games, Handhelds, CDs, etc?
